Baby Bottle Boomerang
We purchased 1,000 bottles and distributed 645 in spring 2007. 312 were returned (48.4%), leaving us with 667. Feb. 1, 2008, gave 150 bottles to Mary Anne Shumata to run the program at her church during Lent.
Oct. 24, 2008 gave the remaing 517 bottles to Mercy P. to use for the Hispanic community at IHM. (We never got bottles back from Mary Anne.)

What is this baby bottle distribution?

Fundraiser for pregnancy services. Comes from an organization called Plans For You. Started out as something pitched to pregnancy services to approach their local (mostly evangelical) churches to do. Our parish pro-life committee took the lead on it, to raise money for Birthright, which started (in the US anyway) under the leadership of several members of our parish many years ago. Anyway, the program is called “Baby Bottle Boomerang” and the idea is to distribute these baby bottles and have people fill them up with contributions over a period of time and return them. We ran ours last spring so the return was Mothers Day weekend.
